ROMPCO hands over new classrooms to Nomzamo Primary in Kokstad

The Republic of Mozambique Pipeline Investments Company (ROMPCO) has donated three newly built classrooms to Nomzamo Primary School in Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal. The donation, which included an assembly point and hygiene packs, was part of ROMPCO’s broader commitment to supporting educational facilities and was made possible through fundraising in partnership with the Ride4Hope and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

This project is not only about infrastructure but about creating a safe, supportive environment where learners can thrive. Our goal is to make a long-lasting impact, creating educational spaces that inspire growth and learning,” says Chuma Mxo, ROMPCO’s Manager of Branding, Communications, and CSI.

Nomzamo had two prefabricated classrooms, with 50 learners in each, and also needed an assembly area for the school. ROMPCO built three new classrooms, together with an office space, and paved the front area to accommodate an assembly of 1 000 learners.

Since its inception in 2018, the Nelson Mandela Legacy Ride4Hope has been an inspiring platform to honour Madiba’s legacy. The initiative, coordinated in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, supports underserved communities by providing essential resources to schools across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal.

“Our sponsorship of Ride4Hope is not only about honouring Nelson Mandela’s legacy but also about creating a meaningful impact in communities that need support. Through this partnership, we are able to reach and empower schools that otherwise might go without these critical resources,” concludes Mxo.
